The 2023 Bogota Open presents a great chance for lower-ranked players to make a name for themselves but the draw is still very interesting.

From April 3rd to 9th players will get a chance to start the clay-court part of the season at the WTA 250 event in Bogota, Colombia. The draw includes many players that don't get many chances to compete in the main draw of a WTA event and so there's a great chance for a breakthrough.

Last year, Tatjana Maria won the Bogota Open and the German player will defend her title this year. Maria is the second seed and she will start the tournament against Katrina Scott from the United States in the first round.

Without a doubt, one of the players that fans in Bogota will want to see on the tennis court is Eugenie Bouchard. The 2014 Wimbledon finalist will play only in her third event this year and she's yet to make a main draw appearance since October last year. In the first round of the 2023 Bogota Open, Bouchard will play against Ylena In-Albon from Switzerland.

The first-seeded player at the event is Elise Mertens from Belgium and she will meet Mirjam Bjorklund from Sweden in the first round. Fans will be delighted to see veteran Sara Errani as the fifth-seed as the Italian will begin against Elina Avanesyan.
