Carlos Alcaraz returned to the tennis courts at the 2023 Argentina Open in Buenos Aires and it was a successful return.

Due to an injury, the Spaniard missed the 2022 ATP Finals as well as the start of the 2023 season. But now, he's back and fans couldn't wait to see him as they went to extreme measures to see their favourite player train ahead of his first match in Buenos Aires.

In the second round of the ATP 250 event in Argentina, the first-seeded Alcaraz took on Laslo Djere from Serbia, who defeated Fabio Fognini in the first round.

Despite being away from the tour for months, Alcaraz started really well, breaking his opponent in the third game and adding another one four games later to comfortably win the first set 6-2.

In the second set, however, the former world no. 1 struggled to break his opponent as Djere showed his qualities in the tenth game to break the Spaniard and level the score of the match after winning the second set 6-4.

But Alcaraz produced a sensational level in the third set once again, breaking his opponent twice and not facing any break points himself.

After two hours and one minute, the 19-year-old won the match 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 and he will be playing against yet another Serbian, Dusan Lajovic in the quarterfinals.
