WTA action will be back in Hamburg at the 2022 Hamburg Open which will be played from July 17th until 23rd and the entry list features some promising names.
Previously, legends such as Venus Williams, Martina Hingis, Steffi Graf and Kim Clijsters triumphed in Hamburg and after almost two decades, the tournament returned to the German city once again as Gabriela Ruse will be defending last year's title at the 2022 Hamburg Open.
But if the Romanian player wants to succeed, she will need to beat a lot of higher-ranked players. Danielle Collins is the highest-ranked player in the draw and her biggest challengers will be Daria Kasatkina and Barbora Krejcikova.
Last year's finalist Andrea Petkovic is also featured on the entry list and one of the semifinalists and another home player, Jule Niemeier will also compete. Elena Rybakina, Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Anhelina Kalinina will also try to go far in Hamburg.
