Novak Djokovic will most likely play at the 2022 Australian Open yet when his ban to enter the country gets reversed but not all are supportive of it.

Allowing Djokovic to enter the country would be an insult to Australians according to former minister Karen Andrews, whose party was defeated in the most recent elections. Djokovic's visa was cancelled by a government minister last year, leading to his deportation from the country days before the Australian Open.

“There would have been other people in similar circumstances that have also had their visas cancelled,” the lawmaker told ABC Radio on Monday "so if immigration now chooses to make a special allowance for Novak Djokovic the obvious question is what are they going to do about anyone else who may be in similar circumstances?”

“(Why should) Novak Djokovic be allowed back into the country simply because he’s a high-ranking tennis player with many millions of dollars?. It shouldn’t be just one rule for (him) and a different rule for everyone else.” added Andrews during the same interview.

Andrews explained her view of it being special treatment and why it's wrong even though multiple sources from the country have already indicated that his VISA would be reinstated and he would be permitted to enter the country. Djokovic remained silent regarding any reports of the media but confirmed that he would gladly go back if possible.
