WTA players sponsored by Nike, including World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka, know that they will be wearing at the 2024 Roland Garros event.
As in every Grand Slam tournament, kit manufacturers work tirelessly to design the best look for their ambassadors. Nike's 2024 Paris Collection hit social media earlier this week.
Sabalenka, who recently secured the No. 2 ranking due to Coco Gauff's semi-final defeat at the Italian Open, will be the second seed at the clay Slam. The tournament will begin on May 26th where the 26-year-old will aim to do better than last year's heartbreaking semifinal exit.
The Belarusian wore her signature red outfit at the Australian Open. Since becoming Grand Slam champion, Sabalenka has been provided with a customized outfit from the American sportswear company, wearing the bright pink dress at the 2023 US Open.
Nike released multiple colorways of the Paris Collection design for the upcoming French Open. Sabalenka stood out wearing the NikeCourt Slam Women's "Rust Factor" orange during the official kit launch photoshoot.
The outfits also come in thunder blue and light grey, and these will most likely be reserved for WTA stars like Qinwen Zheng, who lost to Sabalenka in this year's Australian Open final, Madison Keys, and Victoria Azarenka, who are clothed by Nike.
The women's outfits will feature moire patterns, which are caused when repetitive colors overlap, creating stripes, dots, or checks. For this year's Roland Garros dresses, this pattern has created swirls.
The ATP's Nike collection has also been revealed. The options include a Dri-FIT crew neck or polo top with a zipper, depending on the player's preference. The outfits will come in three colorways: rust factor orange, thunder lime, and yellow.
Frances Tiafoe is Nike's highest-ranked American man, and he will wear the outfit following Taylor Fritz's switch to BOSS. Other top-ranked players, such as Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune, will also wear these outfits, although World No. 3 Alcaraz is in talks to have a custom outfit.
