'Thanks My Team For Helping Me Lose Another Final': Sabalenka Jokes After Rome Final

by Zachary Wimer

Aryna Sabalenka battled Iga Swiatek in yet another final, and once again, she lost, but she found the funny side of it.

The two Italian Open finalists have developed a strong rivalry in recent years simply because they play better than everyone else, and since they are the top two seeded players, they often meet in the finals.

They are the two top players on the WTA Tour right now, and their results in Madrid, and now also Rome, just prove that. They recently played in the Madrid Open final, and Swiatek won in the Spanish capital.

They now played in the Italian Open final, and Swiatek won even more easily, which left Sabalenka quite annoyed, but as always, she tackled it with a smile on her face. She had a plan to try to counter her opponent, but it didn't work out.

As she joked, the blame obviously falls upon her team, and she lets them know about it during the trophy ceremony. Sabalenka thanked her team for helping her lose yet another final.

"Of coures last but not least I want to thank my team for helping me lose another final. That's all your fault guys."

Sabalenka to her team

Obviously, the Belarusian was joking as both the team and Sabalenka were laughing at it, but it's certainly quite a bit frustrating losing yet another final to the same player.

Of course, Sabalenka has beaten Swiatek in the past, though it's pretty tough to do on a clay court, as it is where Swiatek feels most at home. So far, the rivalry has heavily favored the Polish player, and Sabalenka will have to win many matches to turn it around.

She will try her best to do that, and if she's going to do it, she's going to do it with the help of her team, which has been with her for a very long time. Then, she can thank them for helping her win the trophy.
