Rafael Nadal is the most successful Spanish player in the sport's history and Carlos Alcaraz is tipped to break some of his records.
Although there could be a huge rivalry between them, that's not the case as they are very good friends. When Alcaraz celebrated his 18th birthday in Madrid last year, he received a cake from Nadal and tournament director Feliciano Lopez. Moreover, the teenager mentioned many times how big inspiration the 22-time Grand Slam champion is for him and he will have another chance to learn something from him this year.
Naturally, fans want to see the best of the best face off and that's why world no. 1 and 2 in the ATP Rankings will meet in Las Vegas on March 5 next year. The exhibition event, which is named "The Slam: Nadal vs. Alcaraz" will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Previously the two compatriots met three times on the court as the more experienced Spaniard triumphed two times. Although this match won't count for their H2H record on the ATP Tour, both of them will certainly show their best tennis to fans in the United States.
