The 2022 Laver Cup will be played from September 23rd until 25th and this time, Team Europe will meet Team World in London.

It will be already fifth Laver Cup in which John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg pick their teams, but so far, the Swedish coach was far more successful. Team Europe leads 4-0 as Team World is yet to win a Laver Cup and they will try to do that in 2022 as team's captain announced the first three players.

Last year, Team World suffered the worst defeat since the start of the Laver Cup as they lost 14-1 and they will try to build a better team this year. Yet, at least two players will be the same as Felix Auger-Aliassime and Diego Schwartzman will both take part at the event.

The third player announced for Team World is Taylor Fritz and the only two known players for Team Europe are Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

“Felix has had a stand-out season and is one of the leading younger players of the new generation.”

John Mc Enroe

“I’m excited to be returning for Team World. Boston was a great first experience of Laver Cup and the atmosphere was very special. One year on, I feel confident that I can win points for Team World this time around.”

Felix Auger-Aliassime

“I have great memories of playing Laver Cup and forming such strong bonds with my teammates. I can’t wait to take part this year at The O2, the atmosphere will be out of this world."

Diego Schwartzman
