The 2024 Cinch Championships will mark 125th edition of grass-court tennis at London's Queen's Club, and the entry list has been released.
The tournament will run from June 17th to 23rd. It is part of the ATP 500 series. For many years, it has attracted some of the world's top-ranked players, and the 2024 event will preserve that status, with ten of the world's Top 20 men signing up.
It is a perfect opportunity for players seeking to make a seamless transition from clay to grass in preparation for Wimbledon. Historically, players who excel at Queen's have done wonders at Wimbledon, with 2023 champion Carlos Alcaraz a case in point.
The Spaniard memorably lifted his first grass-court title at the Cinch Championships last summer before going on to defeat Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Alcaraz will defend his crown in London as the top-seeded player.
The other Top 10 member in the field is Grigor Dimitrov, the 2014 champion and last year's quarterfinalist (lost to Alcaraz). This year, Dimitrov will not be in the same half of the draw as Alcaraz and will avoid him until the final.
Alex de Minaur has unfinished business at Queen's Cub. He was a runner-up last year, and the objective will be to go one better this time. Taylor Fritz, for his part, has underperformed in each of his last two trips to this tournament. The American will be the fourth seed and with a point to prove.
The talented pool will also include two fresh-faced 21-year-olds. These are Holger Rune and Ben Shelton. Tommy Paul and Ugo Humbert are also part of the top eight seeds.
The strength in depth is epitomized by the high number of unseeded Top 30 players. Karen Khachanov, Adrian Mannarino, Jiri Lehecka, Frances Tiafoe, and Sebastian Korda will be among the dark horses in the field.
Cameron Norrie and Jack Draper will carry British hopes at the tournament, while Milos Raonic will use a protected ranking to play. Be sure to check the entry list for the 2024 Cinch Championships below.
