The 2019 US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu is returning from an injury in the 2022 season as she entered already third clay-court tournament.

Previously, the young Canadian played in Stuttgart, where she lost to Aryna Sabalenka in the second round. In Madrid, she lost to a later finalist, Jessica Pegula in the third round. At the 2022 Italian Open in Rome, she will play the third round again as she defeated Nuria Parrizas-Diaz.

So far, Bianca Andreescu looks very solid in the 2022 season. In Rome, she already defeated Emma Raducanu, as the young Brit retired, and now she completed another match without losing a set.

On her way to the victory, Andreescu faced a total of 12 breakpoints, however, she managed to get broken only 3 times. On the other hand, she succeeded in converting all four breakpoints that she had what led to a 6-3, 7-6(4) victory in an hour and 38 minutes.

In the next round, the world number 90 will face Petra Martic who defeated the fifth-seeded Anett Kontaveit in the second round. If the young Canadian wins, she might face a very difficult test as she could possibly take on world number 1, Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals.
