It's already 24 matches in a row that Iga Swiatek has won and the young Pole is looking to extend it at the 2022 Italian Open as she defeated Gabriela Ruse in the second round.

Iga Swiatek was supposed to play in Madrid last week, but she took a week of to heal from an injury, and now she's back on the courts and competing at the 2022 Italian Open where she will try to win her fifth title in a row this season.

So far, world number 1, Iga Swiatek has been unstoppable this season, and she's confirming that also in Rome. The first-seeded Pole had a bye in the first round, and in the second round she took on Gabriela Ruse who defeated Shelby Rogers in the first round.

Swiatek started the match with a break of serve and quickly went up 4-1 in the first set after she added another break. However, also her opponent managed to break her, to what the world number 1 always found answer to eventually win the first set 6-3 in 42 minutes.

The second set was a one-woman story as Iga Swiatek delivered yet another bagel this season by defeating Gabriela Ruse 6-3, 6-0 in just 69 minutes. In the third round, she will take on the sixteenth-seeded Victoria Azarenka.
