The Thailand Open in Hua Hin is one of the newer events on the WTA Tour, and in 2023 it returns after being absent for the past two seasons.
The 2023 event has a Grand Slam champion in the draw as the 2019 US Open winner, Bianca Andreescu headlines the event. The Canadian starts against Harriet Dart from the United Kingdom in the first round of the competition.
But she certainly can't expect an easy path to the title. Tatjana Maria is one of the interesting names in the draw. She is the 2022 Wimbledon champion and the sixth-seeded player in Hua Hin, but she will face a test already in the first round. The 2022 US Open girls' champion, Alexandra Eala will be her opponent, as she succeeded in qualifying.
The second highest-ranked teenager on the WTA Tour, Linda Fruhvirtova is also taking part at this event in Thailand. She will be the eighth-seeded and face off against experienced Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the first round.
