Fruhvirtova was an accomplished junior player. Her achievements include reaching the Wimbledon girls’ singles semifinal in 2021. She reached a career-high junior ranking of No. 2 on 13 December 2021. The Czech made her WTA main-draw debut as a wildcard at the 2020 Prague Open, where she lost in the opening round.
Her first WTA Tour victories came at the 2021 MUSC Health Open. She defeated Alize Cornet and Emma Navarro at that event. This was followed by further progress during the 2022 season. She won her first Grand Slam match at the US Open against Xinyu Wang before losing to former French Open and Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza in the next round.
Fruhvirtova also claimed her first WTA title at the age of just 17 at the Chennai Open in September 2022. She reached the final with victories against Liang En-shuo, Rebecca Peterson, Varvara Gracheva and Nadia Podoroska. Fruhvirtova then won the final 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 against Magda Linette.
2022 also saw Fruhvirtova make the fourth round at the WTA 1000 event, Miami Open, as a wildcard. This included getting past Victoria Azarenka, although the former Grand Slam champion did have to retire with an injury. She fell in the fourth round to Paula Badosa.
Fruhvirtova started 2023 with a run to the fourth round of the Australian Open. She created headlines around the tennis world by shocking the second seed, Ons Jabeur, in the second round. Her tournament in Melbourne ended with a three-set loss to Donna Vekic.
The rest of the 2023 season was a struggle for Fruhvirtova. However, she is still so young and has a long time to mature and develop into a top player.
