Linda Fruhvirtova is one of the most talented players on the WTA Tour, and she confirmed that at the 2022 Chennai Open with her maiden WTA triumph.

The 17-year-old Czech player will become the highest-ranked player under 18 on the WTA Tour and the third-highest-ranked teenager after Coco Gauff and Qinwen Zheng.

Ahead of her final at the 2022 Chennai Open, Fruhvirtova was not afraid to say that she's used to facing a lot of expectations.

"Since I was really young, we always had a lot of attention, even if it was the national U-10 tournament. I’m kind of used to people watching how I am going to do."

In the final of the WTA 250 tournament, she took on the third-seeded Magda Linette from Poland. The Polish player, obviously, has much more experience with WTA finals than the youngster.

And that experience showed in the first set when the Pole had all of the break points. After failing the first five times, Linette eventually gained the advantage on the sixth try and won the first set 6-4.

However, Fruhvirtova was there to win her first WTA title and become one of the youngest players to do so. In the second set, she didn't allow her opponent to have any break chances, and after using one of her opportunities, the Czech leveled the score after winning the second set 6-3.

It already seemed that the third set would have the same scenario as the first one. Linette was the only player to have break points, three of them, and used one to get a 4-1 lead, and she was up 40-30 on her opponent's serve.

Yet, Fruhvirtova won 19 out of the last 25 rallies to beat Linette 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, and win her first WTA title at the 2022 Chennai Open.
