Novak Djokovic jests that he could coach Nick Kyrgios to win five Grand Slams, but warns his assistance wouldn't come cheaply.

Novak Djokovic recently quipped that with his coaching expertise, Nick Kyrgios could achieve five Grand Slam victories. This light-hearted remark came after Djokovic's comeback win over French teenager Luca Van Assche at the Srpska Open in Banja Luka.

Despite grappling with an elbow injury, the 35-year-old tennis icon remains determined to surpass his previous year's performance at the ATP 250 event. Along the way, he has time to joke about his good friend, who is now sidelined with an injury.

Djokovic and Kyrgios have shared a warm friendship, despite not meeting frequently on the court. The duo has participated in charity matches together, and Kyrgios has offered Djokovic off-court support during discussions about his vaccination status. Now, the Serb suggested another collaboration when talking to the press in Banja Luka.

"I would love to coach Nick Kyrgios. He would win five Slams with me, but it would not come cheap."

However, in the past the Australian has admitted reluctance in burdening anyone with the task of coaching him. This tongue-in-cheek suggestion by Djokovic might just be the spark that leads Kyrgios to consider professional guidance in his career.

Whether or not the Australian tennis sensation takes Djokovic's playful offer seriously, the prospect of such a collaboration would surely captivate the tennis world.
