It seems that Frances Tiafoe is running out of gas as the season ending is nearing.

After his semifinal run at US Open and final appearance in Tokyo, Frances Tiafoe singed up for the 2022 Stockholm Open. In the second round, he was very close to losing but eventually came back and set up a quarterfinal meeting with Emil Ruusuvuori.

Following his sensational second-round come back, the American said: "I definitely didn't deserve to win today," Tiafoe said. "Elias was playing really well. In the beginning I was really flat, really negative. It's been a long year and it's tough, I'm pretty tired."

And his tiredness was obvious during his quarterfinal match against the Finn. Tiafoe got broken early and after his opponent added one more break and won the first set 6-1.

The American couldn't find an answer in the second set as he got broken twice again and Ruusuvuori won the match 6-1, 6-2 in an hour and 6 minutes to set up a semifinal clash with the first-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas.
