Alexander Zverev couldn't represent the German Davis Cup team in 2022 but he pledged himself to the team next year.

Due to an injury, Alexander Zverev couldn't help the German Davis Cup team at this year's Finals, but he's come back to play this year. He intends to be there again the next year because he was not able to play for his country this year due to an ankle injury.

“He (Zverev) announced, in general, he is with us in 2023, no matter if the finals are in November or December because he likes to be part of the team and wants to win the event," said team captain Michael Kohlmann after his country's exit from the Finals in Malaga.

Kohlmann declined to respond to a follow-up question by saying he'll be there for a few rounds instead of when, implying that Zverev's participation will depend on other considerations. That is what occurred when he withdrew after winning the ATP Finals the previous year.
