The Croatia Open in Umag is one of the smaller tournaments, but it has some great champions, including Carlos Alcaraz who will defend his title from July 25th until 31st in Croatia.
Last year, Carlos Alcaraz enjoyed a sensational week at the Croatia Open and this year, he will try to prove his qualities again at the ATP 250 event. However, he will need to fight for the title again as the entry list is full of clay-court specialists.
Many players couldn't wait to get their socks dirty once again as the Wimbledon ended the short grass-court part of the season. Jannik Sinner, Nikoloz Basilashvili, Holger Rune, Filip Krajinovic and Sebastian Baez will all challenge Carlos Alcaraz for the title at the 2022 Croatia Open in Umag.
But the new champion can come also from the mid-field. Francisco Cerundolo, who already has one ATP title, Alex Molcan, who is coached by Marian Vajda, former coach of Novak Djokovic, and experienced Fabio Fognini can all have very good runs in Umag.
