The Citi Open in Washington is the first hard-court ATP 500 event since February and in 2022 it will take place from August 1st until 7th.
Last year, Jannik Sinner triumphed at the Citi Open in Washington when he defeated Mackenzie McDonald in the final, but in 2022, he won't be featured on the entry list. On the other hand, former champions Nick Kyrgios and Kei Nishikori should both compete as the Japanese player will be trying to earn some valuable points for the ATP Rankings on his comeback.
There will be a total of 48 players competing at the ATP 500 event in Washington with 6 qualifiers, 4 wild-cards and one SE. Alongside Kei Nishikori, there will be one more player that fans haven't seen in a while as Kyle Edmund will be making his comeback.
The top names on the entry list include Andrey Rublev, Hubert Hurkacz and Taylor Fritz. Since the tournament in the American capital offers a lot of points and prize money, it attracted many more players ranked in the Top 30 such as Denis Shapovalov, Reilly Opelka, Grigor Dimitrov, and Karen Khachanov and many more.
