Eugenie Bouchard returned to the main draw action at the 2022 Chennai Open and she succeeded in both singles and doubles at the tournament.

The 28-years-old Canadian played against world number 167, Joanne Zuger in the first round and after an hour and 45 minutes, she triumphed comfortably 7-6(4), 6-2. One day after singles triumph, Eugenie Bouchard played also in doubles alongside Yanina Wickmayer.

The experienced duo played against the fourth-seeded Katarzyna Kawa and Xin-Yun Han. With a lack of match practice, Bouchard and Wickmayer were not favourites of the match but still managed to win 6-2, 6-4 in an hour and 9 minutes.

The Canadian will try to continue in her successful run at the 2022 Chennai Open and she has the best chances to do so. In singles, she will play against the home wild-card Karman Kaur Thandi.

In doubles, Bouchard and Wickmayer will play against winner of the match between Ankita Raina & Rosalie Van der Hoek and Anastasia Gasanova & Oksana Selekhmeteva and so the Canadian can play a lot of matches in India to get back to the winning ways.
