Before players head for the Sunshine Double, they will get a chance to compete at a brand new WTA 250 event, the 2023 ATX Open in Austin.
The organizers of the tournament had a chance to organize the WTA Finals in 2022, and so the event promises to be a great success. Despite a tricky place in the calendar, the entry list is full of star names such as Emma Raducanu, Sloane Stephens, or Danielle Collins.
But not only the entry list is interesting. Players will be fighting for their share of prize money and points distributed at the 2023 ATX Open, which offers a total of $259,303 distributed through five rounds.
Those that lose already in the first round will be rewarded with only 1 point and $2,804, but the reward dramatically increases in the second round, with 30 points and $3,920 on offer.
Athletes that end their journey in the quarterfinals will be rewarded with 60 points and $6,418, while those that make it to the semifinals will get 110 points and $11,275. The beaten finalist gets 180 points and $20,226, and the champion will celebrate with 280 points and $34,228.
