The 2022 Strasbourg Open is approaching, and the tournament, which will take place from May 15th to May 21st, will feature a great draw, including Karolina Pliskova, Angelique Kerber, and others.
The event in Strasbourg has been going on for a long time, starting in 1987, and the 2022 edition will be the 36th overall. Barbora Krejcikova took won in the clay event last year and sought to defend her crown this year. The Czech player, however, has been out for some time and withdrew from this event, as she was replaced by Karolina Pliskova, who was given a wild card. Along with the tournament in Strasbourg, viewers will be able to see players compete at the Morocco Open in 2022.
The first-seeded Karolina Pliskova will start the tournament against Marta Kostyuk from Ukraine. Her biggest challenger for the title, Angelique Kerber will play against home player, Diane Parry. No. 3 in Strasbourg, Sorana Cirstea, and no. 6, Sloane Stephens will both start their journeys against qualifiers. The fourth-seeded Elise Mertens will kick-off against another home player, Carole Monnet.
