The 2022 Strasbourg Open is a WTA clay-court tournament that will take place from May 15th to 21st, and the breakdown of prize money has been revealed.

The entry list for the event has already been confirmed, featuring multiple Grand Slam champions. The tennis tournament in Strasbourg has been going on for a long time, starting in 1987, and the 2022 edition will be the 36th altogether.

Barbora Krejcikova won the clay event last year but won't return to defend her crown, having been sidelined because of a long-term injury (she was last in action in late February in Doha).

The top two seeds at the event will be Karolina Pliskova and Angelique Kerber. They have been granted wild cards and will seek to get valuable game time before Roland Garros.

Joining them will be last year's runner-up Sorana Cirstea, Elise Mertens, Sloane Stephens, Magda Linette, and 2015 champion Samantha Stosur. This lot is among the most experienced on the WTA Tour.

In addition, a crop of young players will use this tournament to make a name for themselves. These include Marta Kostyuk, Fiona Ferro, Oceane Dodin, Diane Parry, Ana Konjuh, and Kaja Juvan.

The total prize money for the 2022 Strasbourg Open is $251,750, with the champion taking home a whopping $33,200, and she will receive 280 points. The runner-up will be awarded $19,750 and 180 points, while the two semi-finalists will each earn $11,000 and 110 points.

Players competing in Strasbourg will strive to at least reach the quarterfinal stage for better financial returns. They are guaranteed to take home $6,200 and 60 points, while players who reach the second round will make $3,800 and receive 30 points.

First-round losers will receive a consolation prize of $2,725 and 1 point. The complete breakdown in prize money and points allocation can be seen below.
