Rafael Nadal has been widely praised as a great example for the younger generations and Darren Cahill agrees with that.

The Spaniard for example never smashed a racquet which is something Uncle Toni taught him too and it's just one of the ways he showed his class. He hasn't been involved in any major controversies and always maintained a humble presence. That's why Darren Cahill thinks that Nadal is a great role model, and during The Big Deal podcast, he said:

"Rafa is an amazing person, an amazing athlete. You want the next generation to be little Rafa's, don't you? The way they train, the way they treat their opponents, the way they treat everything. His work ethic is second to none, the way he goes about his tennis. You want the next generation to have his ethics, his work ethic.

Cahill on Nadal as a perfect role-model

Nadal has been a role model for several players of this current gen already. Andrey Rublev always held Nadal as his favourite player with Sebastian Korda looking up to him as well. There are certainly more coming up as the Spaniard continues to make history at an age where he didn't think he'd be playing at.

We would love some of the young guns to come through and start winning a few Majors, that would be great for the sport. But these guys are not going to give up the mantle easily.
