After the retirement of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are two candidates to collect as many ATP tennis records as possible as they still have years to come.
Famously, no one has ever spent more weeks at world no. 1 spot as Novak Djokovic. The Serbian was the highest-ranked player in the ATP Rankings for a total of 373 weeks and that is one of the records that will be very difficult to break in the future. However, Roger Federer spent 237 consecutive weeks as no. 1 and that's something that, on the other hand, the Serbian may never achieve.
Current leader in "Grand Slam title race", Rafael Nadal is behind both players in this stat. While he was world no. 1 only for 209 weeks in total and managed to do it only for 56 consecutive weeks, he's leading in another stat - weeks as world no. 2.
In the latest edition of the ATP Rankings, the Spaniards sits on the 2nd position, 920 points behind his compatriot Carlos Alcaraz. Therefore, he started his 373rd week as world no. 1 and "matched" Novak Djokovic's record, although at different position.
Both players are expected to increase this number in the future as Nadal is still playing really well and can add a couple more titles at the Roland Garros.
On the other hand, Djokovic recorded points only at one Grand Slam tournament in 2022 and is still ranked only 2410 points behind the leader and so it is expected that he will jump into the pole position in 2023.
