Novak Djokovic produced a superb effort to take down a very tricky opponent in Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-1 6-4 6-2.

It was a very interesting matchup but it proved a much less interesting match. Thanasi Kokkinakis never once seemed to give Djokovic trouble in this match which was good to see for the Serbian. He faced some issues against Kwon but today none of that was present.

He took an early break in the opening set and never looked back. Kokkinakis did not have his serve working as well as it can. His forehand was also not that dangerous and he had no way of outplaying Djokovic in the rallies. Djokovic did most of the damage on the 2nd serve as he cruised to a 6-1 opening set.

The 2nd set was the most competitive one as Kokkinakis found a bit of rhythm behind his serve. Once he missed it, he was in trouble. Djokovic once again did most of his damage on the 2nd serve and despite a rather strong set from Kokkinakis overall Djokovic still proved better 6-4.

It was a measured display from the Serbian as he had 13 winners and only 3 errors in the 2nd set. The 3rd set followed another familiar script with Kokkinakis once again having a lot of trouble with his serve. Whenever he failed to get the first one in, he pretty much lost the point. Djokovic was superb once more dropping only a handful of points on his serve to close it out 6-2.
