Jannik Sinner lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas a few times in a row and he was glad to end that negative streak in Rotterdam.

Sinner produced a superb effort to win the match in two sets against a rather lacklustre Tsitsipas. After losing to him at the Australian Open a few weeks ago, Sinner was itching to get a chance to avenge the defeat and he took this opportunity.

It means a lot obviously. A lot of work behind. I'm very happy. I played some good tennis, very focused today. Hopefully I can keep it going but for sure, Stef is an incredible player. I have a lot of respect for him. He played incredible tennis this year already.

Sinner has been going strong lately as he's on an active winning streak dating back to last week and the Montpellier Open. That winning streak will be tested by Stan Wawrinka, a player who is playing solid but not many deem him capable of winning their matchup.

I'm very happy that he is playing again at a very, very high level. I played last year at Wimbledon against him. He has improved a lot from that point. I know him quite well. He is a hard worker. It's going to be a tough march for sure.
