While there was no doubt about Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis defending their title at the 2023 Australian Open, now it's confirmed.

Last year, the Australian duo started their season with the sensational triumph in Melbourne Park. They defeated compatriots Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell in the final and lifted their maiden Grand Slam title. In 2023, the Special K's will be back at the Australian Open and ready to defend their title.

Kokkinakis will begin preparations already at the 2023 Adelaide International 1, but he will be playing without Kyrgios there. However, the Australian duo signed up together for the first Grand Slam of the season, and they may be the 7th-seeded pair at the event.

Wesley Koolhof and, Neal Skupski, Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury, Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer, and Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic are the four highest-ranked teams to sign up for the event at the Australians come shortly after them with a combined ATP Doubles Ranking of 28.
