On the same day that Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina welcomed their daughter, Daniil Medvedev did the same announcing the birth on Instagram.
It's a time of tennis babies, as Svitolina and Monfils announced the birth of their daughter, and now, the Frenchman's colleague from the ATP Tour, Daniil Medvedev, has also welcomed his first child.
After Nadal and Monfils, Daniil Medvedev is the third current tennis player this month to welcome a child into the family. It's interesting that both he and Monfils welcomed girls on the same day but Monfils is exactly ten years older than Medvedev.
Medvedev posted a photo of his baby with the gorgeous city of Nice in the background to social media. He captioned the photo with:
"Welcome to the world baby girl."
The birth of his first daughter marks the start of a new chapter in the Russian's life. Climbing to the world no. 1 spot in his career and winning a Grand Slam title, there's not much more he can achieve in tennis, even though he can repeat these milestones many more times.
Now, Medvedev will get to experience how does it feel to be a parent while travelling around the world, as his wife, Daria, has accompanied the Russian for the much of his career, now there will be another member joining their team.
The new member family also comes at the time when the Russian had mixed results on the tennis court. He made it to the fourth round at the US Open, before losing to Australia's Nick Kyrgios, and later lost in his first match at the Moselle Open in Metz.
His most recent outing was a semifinal loss to Novak Djokovic in Astana, in a match where he was two points away from winning, but retired after two sets.
