Carlos Alcaraz cruised easier than expected against Oscar Otte who was in very good form before this one, 6-3 6-1 6-2.

Oscar Otte plays tennis a certain way. He attacks and never tries anything else. It works most of the time and then he's really hard to beat but today was not that today. Today things did not work out and Alcaraz was able to cruise rather easily against a player who was expected to seriously challenge him. The first set was actually quite solid from Otte.

He did not serve as well and he faced some issues on his serve but for the most part, it was Alcaraz who was simply better. On serve, the Spaniard was remarkable dropping only three points overall. On return, he was able to force Otte in tricky situations with some deep returns and win the first set 6-3.

In the 2nd set Otte completely folded getting outplayed by the Spaniard who was superb. Alcaraz cruised to a 6-1 finish behind 16 winners and only one unforced error. That was quite brutal and despite posting a 9-5 winner to unforced errors ratio Otte had no chance. He was mostly applauding his opponent for another brilliant point.

The final set was another solid one from both players but Alcaraz was once again better. He kept applying pressure and Otte once again could not handle it. It finished with the Spaniard taking it 6-2 sending himself into round 4.
