Andy Murray needed Jack Draper to lose against Pablo Carreno Busta to enter the Cincinnati Masters draw directly and that happened.

Therefore, the former world number 1 doesn't need to play the qualifying and he also didn't need the wild-card. In the first round of the tournament, Andy Murray will take on Stan Wawrinka who entered using a protected ranking.

If Murray wins, he can face his compatriot, Cameron Norrie in the second round. The Brit plays against Holger Rune in the first round and certainly this part of the draw is full of many solid players.

Andy Murray triumphed at the Cincinnati Masters twice before when he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final in 2008 and the Serbian retired in the 2011 final against Murray. The Scot will try to improve his form ahead of the 2022 US Open, where most probably, he won't be seeded.
