Nick Kyrgios is having a great season so far, as he won already four titles in 2022, one in singles and three in doubles.
The 27-year-old Australian has been consistently showing this year how versatile a player he is and that he can play both singles and also doubles very well.
He showed it already at the 2022 Australian Open when he lifted his maiden Grand Slam title in doubles with Thanasi Kokkinakis, but he added two more triumphs in Atlanta and Washington.
The only singles title that Kyrgios won this year came at the Citi Open in Washington, the same place where he triumphed last time in 2019. Thanks to his solid performances, the Australian is also doing very well in the ATP Race.
In the doubles ATP Race, he's currently ranked sixth alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis, and it seems very likely that the pairing will qualify for the ATP Finals in Torino.
It's not a secret that Kyrgios misses 1,200 points from Wimbledon. He reached the final in London, but since points were not awarded at this year's Championships, he, like anyone else, didn't receive any.
Those 1,200 points would put him in ninth place in the ATP Race in singles, but currently, he sits in the 20th position. Yet, with his current form, it's quite probable that he will be able to reach the Top 8.
Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic are both ahead of him and most probably, none of them will compete in Cincinnati and at the US Open.
If Kyrgios earns enough points and qualifies for the ATP Finals in both singles and doubles, he will become the first person to do so since Emilio Sanchez in 1990.
Moreover, if he wins both events, he will become only the second person in history to do so, as John McEnroe is the only player in history to win the ATP Finals in singles and doubles.
