Players travel to the United States to compete in the 2022 Cincinnati Masters from August 14 to August 21 after playing an ATP 1000 tournament in Montreal.

The Cincinnati Masters is often one of the final competitions where athletes polish their technique before the year's fourth Grand Slam. This year won't be any different because all the famous names are on the entrance list.

The defending champion is Alexander Zverev, and Novak Djokovic won in 2020. Both of these players withdrew from the event. German's injury prevented him from playing, and the 21-time Grand Slam winner was not allowed to enter the country.

Daniil Medvedev won the Masters in Cincinnati in 2019 and will likely start as the top seed in 2022. Former champions Rafael Nadal, Marin Cilic, and Grigor Dimitrov will all attempt to win a second championship this year.

However, there will be fierce competition. In Cincinnati, a number of athletes, including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Carlos Alcaraz, Andrey Rublev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and others, will strive to win their maiden championship.

If they succeed in doing so, they will add 1 000 points to the ATP Rankings and take home almost $1 million in prize money. The finalist gets 600 points and more than $500,000 and players get also nice 10 points and $25,110 for playing the first round.
