According to The Times, new tournament, called the United Cup should take place in Australia every year during the season start.

Prize money should climb to millions of dollars and they will be awarded to participants in the tournament. Before the Australian Open in January, the United Cup will be played in many Australian towns. It will take the place of the ATP Cup for men as the season's opening event. Essentially, the United Cup should be a similar event to Hopman Cup.

Since the ATP Cup started in 2020, it had three different champions. In 2020, Serbia defeated Spain in the final. Last year, Russia beat Italy and this year, Canada bested Spain in the final.

On the other hand, the Hopman cup wasn't played since 2019. In 2018 and 2019 Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic from Switzerland beat Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber from Germany in the final.
