Every time Serena Williams picks up a tennis racket, curious tennis fans can't help themselves but speculate on a potential comeback.
And Serena has certainly fuelled that curiosity again as she hit the tennis courts with her sister Venus Williams in a video posted on her official TikTok handle.
The two legends looked to be in fine fettle and in all smiles as they performed some light stretching on the court. But it wasn't long before both of them changed into game mode for a fun day of practice.
Serena and Venus have been trailblazers and are considered iconic figures in the world of sports. Both have held the World No. 1 ranking and won a ton of trophies during their playing careers.
"Having a blast hitting with Venus Williams."
Serena, winner of 23 Grand Slams in singles, officially retired from professional tennis in September 2022 after a third-round defeat at the US Open. She despised using the word "retirement" while bowing out and instead told the tennis fraternity she was "evolving" away from tennis.
Now 42, Serena is content with life after tennis despite teasing fans on multiple occasions about an unlikely return. A few months ago, she celebrated the birth of her second child Adira River Ohanian.
Remarkably, her older sister Venus is still active on tour. Having won seven Grand Slams in singles, she intends to return for a 30th year on the WTA tour in 2024 at the age of 43.
Venus last played on tour at the end of August where she lost in the first round of the 2023 US Open. She shut down her season due to the injury she picked up at Wimbledon and will return to the tour in March for the Sunshine Swing. Serena might have been prepping Venus for her return next season.
