Serena Williams will be inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 2024 as part of Women's History Month in March next year.
Williams is regarded as one of the greats in tennis after competing at the top of the WTA for two decades. During her esteemed career, Williams won 23 Grand Slams - an all-time female record in the Open era - and she notched 73 tournament wins between 1995 and 2023.
The former WTA number one brought the curtain down on her star-studded career in 2022 at the US Open. As recognition for her achievements in elite sport, Williams will join some of the most influential women in history in the National Women's Hall of Fame in 2024.

In addition to her accomplishments on the courts, Williams has inspired a generation of young female tennis players, including 2023 US Open champion Coco Gauff, and she has taken on several ventures outside of tennis.
In recent years, Serena has become involved in several business enterprises, including investing in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's golf league and launching 926 Productions - a multimedia company.
Moreover, the former US player has been outspoken about issues of gender equality in tennis and has taken an active role in trying to improve playing conditions and support.
In a tribute to the upcoming inductees, Jennifer Gabriel, the Hall of Fame's chief executive, was full of praise for the work of Williams and the other iconic figures.
"The 2024 class of inductees are scientists, activists, performers, and athletes who are the changemakers of today and inspiration for the women of tomorrow. Their dedication, drive, and talent got them here, and we're thrilled to honor them on the national stage."
