Due to the touchy nature of an interesting embrace between Sara Bejlek and her father and coach, viewers had conflicting opinions about it.
Sara Bejlek, a 16-year-old Czech super talent, advanced through three qualifying matches to the US Open main event. Bejlek and her father hugged one other after the final game, but many spectators were horrified by how touchy the moment was.
A kiss on the mouth, which is improper in many cultures around the world finished off the embrace. Some people held relaxed opinions on it, but in most cases, it varies from person to person. After that, Bejlek went to hug also her coach, who wasn't any less touchy. The strange dynamic between coaches and young players has been repeatedly exposed in the WTA and was raised again after this situation.
Pam Shriver made headlines when she confirmed a relationship between 17-year-old herself and her 50-year-old coach who was married at the time. There have been several relationships like the WTA community which left fans stunned by such a touchy embrace between Bejlek and her coach.
Some of the commets include:
"Well I don't know the Czech culture, but this doesn't seems normal at all, WTA should send somebody to talk to the girl, just to make sure things are ok"
Another fan responded with:
"No, it's normal. Her dad gave her a kiss and a pat her on the butt. The coach patted her very briefly. This progressive liberal nonsence (of asking WTA or any authority to check...) reminds me Beckham beinge critisized for kissing her daughter. Btw I've got 3 daughters at home...."
