Rick Macci, a seven-time USPTA Coach of the Year, spoke exclusively with Tennis-Infinity.com before the 2022 US Open.

The youngest tennis coach in USPTA Hall of Fame history, Rick Macci, coached five players who finished at the top of the rankings, including Venus and Serena Williams. Ahead of the final Grand Slam of the season, the 2022 US Open, he gave some of his predictions to Tennis-Infinity.com readers.

Coco Gauff played her first Grand Slam final at the 2022 Roland Garros and she's certainly one of the favourites at the home Slam. The crowd will be cheering for the 18-years-old superstar and according to Rick Macci, she's one of the top favourites at the 2022 US Open.

"I really like the potential of Coco Gauff," Rick Macci told Tennis-Infinity.com. "Even though I think Iga is gonna probably be the favorite. The one thing she does have a little doubt, she's not invincible, she won 35 in a row. When you just win like that, you just think you're meant to win, it's a crazy feeling. But now, her armor has been changed a little bit, so she's more vulnerable. I think she's much better on clay."

"I think Coco has the ability, I still feel there's some speed bumps in her serve in her forehand, which was ironic, I talked to her dad a month ago and hopefully when she gets a training block that can kind of really, really be addressed from a biomechanical point of view, but she's an olympic sprinter with a tennis racket in her hand."

Stay tuned as the full interview with Rick Macci will be released on the 28th of August 2022. In the interview, he talks about his picks ahead of the 2022 US Open, including Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and more.
