7-time USPTA Coach of the Year, Rick Macci spoke with Tennis-Infinity.com in an exclusive interview ahead of the 2022 US Open.

Rick Macci is the youngest ever USPTA Hall-Of-Fame tennis coach and former coach of 5 number 1 ranked players, including Serena and Venus Williams. With the 2022 US Open right around the corner, he shared some of his predictions ahead of the last Grand Slam of the season.

Carlos Alcaraz was named as one of the top favourites at the 2022 Roland Garros and despite losing already in the quarterfinals, the Spaniard showed his hard-court qualities in Cincinnati and is one of the contenders at the 2022 US Open.

"I'm going down a different even though he hasn't done it. I think [Carlos] Alcaraz is gonna win his first Slam," Rick Macci said in an interview with Tennis-Infinity.com. I just feel he's gotten so much experience."

"He's lost some tough matches. He just turned 19. He's not going undefeated. I just think he's a generational talent. So my prediction of the men, I'm going with Alcaraz and I think it's easier when you look at these draws and you don't see [Roger] Federer and you don't see [Novak] Djokovic," said Rick Macci.

"It just changes everything the way you look at it like there's probably many many people that think, 'why not me, why not me?' All that being said, at the end of the day, the favourite is [Daniil] Medvedev. He is the favourite and he knows it," Macci concluded.

Stay tuned as the full interview with Rick Macci will be released on the 28th of August 2022. In the interview, he talks about his picks ahead of the 2022 US Open, including Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and more.
