In the past 30 matches, Iga Swiatek got used to delivering bagels to her opponents and winning in under an hour but that was not the case against Danka Kovinic at the 2022 Roland Garros.

After previously losing only 4 games in 2 matches against Lesia Tsurenko and Alison Riske, the young Pole lost twice as many in her third-round match against Danka Kovinic as the Montenegrin put up a great fight against world number 1. In 90 minutes, Iga Swiatek won the match but experienced yet unexperienced at this year's second Grand Slam.

The match started with a hold to love and break by Swiatek who quickly led 4-1 in the first set and everything appeared to go as usually. However, she then got broken for the first time in Paris this year as she had a 40-0 lead in the seventh game of the first set. Eventually, she managed to win the set 6-3 and headed into the second set after 43 minutes.

Fans witnessed what they were used to seeing by the young Pole this year once again as she led 4-1 and was about to serve after getting two breaks. But her opponent shifted gears and won 4 games in a row during which she once didn't allow her opponent to win a point during 11 rallies straight. However, Swiatek showed her experience and won the last three games of the match to advance into the fourth round after winning 6-3, 7-5.
