The biggest surprise of the season came at the US Open when a qualifier, Emma Raducanu, rushed through all of her opponents without losing a set to win her maiden Grand Slam title.

After that, Barbora Krejcikova showed that she isn't only a doubles specialist, winning the 2021 Roland Garros, and doing so in a really dominant style as she dominated both the singles and the doubles competitions, while losing in the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles.

The Czech player was also one of the most successful in 2021 overall, winning a total of nine titles, out of which three were in singles. The most dominant player in this category was Ashleigh Barty, who won five singles titles, while Anett Kontaveit managed to win four.

Garbine Muguruza was the only other player to win three our more singles titles, while the rest of multi-title winners included the likes of Iga Swiatek, Danielle Collins, Jelena Ostapenko, and teenage prodigy Coco Gauff.
