Coco Gauff's singles results have impressed in recent months, but the 18-year-old has made it clear she also wants to play mixed doubles at this year's Wimbledon Championships.

Gauff started her grass court season at the ongoing Berlin Championships by defeating her compatriot Ann Li. In that match, the American progressed despite falling down on match point.

She is competing in Berlin after an excellent French Open campaign. The teenager stormed into the final without dropping a set. Unfortunately for Gauff, she ran into the world No.1 Iga Swiatek in the final, who won her 35th match in a row to overcome her.

Gauff replicated that achievement in the women's doubles alongside Jessica Pegula. The pair took the opening set in the final against Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic but ultimately lost to the Frenchwomen.

It seems that experience in doubles has made Gauff want to spend more time on the doubles court. On her Twitter page, she took a very direct route to try and find a mixed doubles partner for Wimbledon.

"Who wants to play mixed at Wimby?"

This move from Gauff demonstrates how much the sporting landscape has changed. Social media makes it so much easier for players to communicate and express their thoughts to their fans. Younger players like Gauff, in particular, have led that change.

The French Open runner-up's post received a lot of attention. Replies to the post were filled with suggestions by fans of players Gauff should team up with. Suggestions included Felix Auger-Aliassime and Sebastian Korda.

Gauff will not mind this since she enjoys communicating with her fans on social media. For instance, she confirmed her participation at Wimbledon by responding to someone who asked her about it in her replies. The 18-year-old's social media posts are certainly among the most interesting in the sport.
