Coco Gauff defeated fellow American teenager, Ann Li in the first round of the 2022 Berlin Open and she finished the match in a very interesting way.
World number 13, Coco Gauff recently enjoyed a great run at the 2022 Roland Garros. Now, she started as the seventh-seeded at the 2022 Berlin Open and she defeated Ann Li in the first round in an hour and 34 minutes.
In the first set, Gauff broke her opponent's service twice while she didn't allow her to have any break points what resulted in a swift 6-2 win. However, in the second set, both Americans produced a total of 6 breaks and the set eventually resulted in a tie-break.
The more experienced from the duo was dominant during the tie-break when she had her first match point already when leading 6-1. She couldn't use that one, but she converted another one when she made a shot while falling on the ground.
