18-time grand slam champion Chris Evert ranked compatriot Coco Gauff ahead of Emma Raducanu in a group of rising stars of tennis.

Evert worked as a tennis analyst on Roland Garros for Eurosport and the tennis legend observed closely how both Gauff and Raducanu have performed. Raducanu crashed out rather early against Aliaksandra Sasnovich but she played with some physical issues as well.

Gauff on the other hand reached her maiden grand slam final where she lost to Iga 'I will lose again someday' Swiatek where she really had no chance. Speaking to Eurosport and commenting on Gauff Evert said:

“I would say her career is like the stairway to heaven right now and she’s on the top step because she’s reached a final."

She also ranked Gauff ahead of Raducanu among the rising group of young superstars of tennis:

“Everything in moderation. I think that’s a healthier sort of environment. I mean Raducanu had an unbelievable US Open but I think she’s been struggling ever since then and I think it’s going to be a while if she wins another one. But I think Coco is the best of that young group and I think she’s been doing everything the correct way."

It's a fair point and with Raducanu picking up an injury in Nottingham today it's hard to argue that Gauff is certainly more durable at the moment.
