Naomi Osaka headlines the WTA 500 event in Tokyo that will be played from September 19th until 25th and it offers $757,900 in prize money and a lot of points for all round.

The capital city of Japan hasn't held a WTA Tour stop since Karolina Pliskova defeated Naomi Osaka in the final of the WTA 500 competition in 2018. Four years later, the Japan Open comes back to Tokyo with intriguing prize money and points.

There are many interesting names in the draw, such as Paula Badosa, Sofia Kenin, Caroline Garcia and Elena Rybakina and they will all fight for the top prize of $116,340 and 470 points.

But players that will lose in the earlier rounds will also get a nice reward. All players that qualify for the second round will get 55 points for the WTA Rankings and more than 10 thousand dollars. The runner-up of the 2022 Japan Open in Tokyo will be awarded 305 points and $71,960 and you can see the full prize money and points overview below.
