Taylor Fritz brought home his second ATP Tour-level title of the season, proving once again why he's considered one of the most exciting talents of his generation.

His championship bout at the 2023 Atlanta Open against Australia's Aleksandar Vukic was no less than a gripping tennis drama that unraveled over two hours and sixteen minutes. The match was ultimately won by Fritz 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-4, who collected his second title of this season.

Fritz's track record at the Atlanta Open has always been commendable, with semi-finals in 2021 and a near-miss in the 2019 finals. However, this time he was not there merely to participate - he was there to win.

"I've played this tournament five times before and [made] the semis [in 2021] and final [in 2019]. I feel like I've always been close so it's nice, I don't think I could've handled another loss in the final. It feels really good to get the job done."

"I felt like today it was like, 'I'm here to win it and I'd be absolutely devastated with a final result'. Even though a lot of times, being in the final, I'm happy with that."

This victory marks Fritz's sixth tour-level title and his third in his home country, the first being the Delray Beach Open title earlier this year. It was also the American crowd that pushed him to eventually win, as he needed the fans to push through in a thrilling three-setter.

"I just felt so at home and welcomed in Atlanta this week. I've been coming back here for so many years, so I'm happy to finally get the title. All week, the support was amazing. I'm not from Atlanta, but it felt like I was because the support was just crazy all week long and it felt great."
