The Slam, an exhibition event scheduled to take place at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, was set to showcase some of the biggest names in tennis.

However, after Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz's withdrawals, the event was canceled. Nadal, who withdrew in February due to a hip injury picked up at the Australian Open, was set to be a major attraction for the event.

With only a few days to go before the event, he notified the organizers of his withdrawal, forcing the organizers to change the format and bring in Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe to compete against each other. The winner of that match would have taken on Alcaraz.

Unfortunately, with Alcaraz's withdrawal, the organizers had no choice but to cancel the event. This was a big blow for Las Vegas tennis fans who were looking forward to seeing their favorite players in action.

When Nadal withdrew from the event, he released a statement, saying:

"I am very sad for not being able to come to Vegas and play in this amazing event with Carlos at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Unfortunately, the timing of my recovery doesn't make it possible to be there ready to play."
