Andrey Rublev remained largely indifferent about the comments made by Stefanos Tsitsipas after their clash last night.
Tsitsipas commented on the match against Rublev after its conclusion asserting that he was clearly the better player but didn't do a well enough job. Rublev adopted a neutral stance after learning about Stefanos' remarks, as do the majority of players who rarely say anything controversial.
"I don't know if I have few tools or not," said Rublev when asked about Tsitsipas saying he has only a few tools.
"If we go shot by shot, I think his backhand is better than mine. His forehand is not better than mine. The speed serve is not better than mine. Obviously he's a better player because he's higher ranked and he achieved better results," added Rublev
Rublev did push back a little explaining that he's beaten him before and usually, their matches are pretty close:
"But I don't think that I beat him because of few tools. If you take our match, every match, we have tough battles. This year I lost to him twice in three sets, and now I beat him in three sets."
