Novak Djokovic played a very balanced match to take down Alex Molcan in straight sets 6-2 6-3 7-6(4) to secure a 3rd round in Roland Garros.

It was the first time Djokvoic had to look at the man that helped him conquer the tennis in the opposing box. Marian Vajda is coaching Alex Molcan and the Slovakian already is showing signs of improvement. Against Djokovic he wasn't able to do much but he really tried. Novak was ready for it and he had a very solid plan of attack.

It worked rather well in the first set as Djokovic had a fair number of winners dropping only one first serve pint the entire set. He won it with 6-2 as Molcan struggled to reduce the number of errors which was 8 by the time the set finished.

The 2nd set was a bit more competitive as Molcan upped his level a little bit but Djokovic was still able to find a solution towards the end of the set. He took a break at 3-2 making it 4-2 and then cruised to a 6-3 finish. Novak was superb hitting 15 winners and only six mistakes while Molcan still had a negative ratio of 9-12. Djokovic jumped out to an early lead in the final set as well but Molcan applied heavy pressure after that.

He broke back and held his serve for the 3-2 lead. Molcan had some chances later in the set as well but we ended up in a tiebreak. In it, it was Djokovic who took care of business simply by serving extraordinary well. Molcan simply could not produce a very good return when he needed it.
