Andrey Rublev lost his cool at the end of the first set in his round one Roland Garros clash against Kwon almost hitting a court sweeper in the head with the ball.

The incident happened at the end of the first set that Kwon won with Rublev frustrated with the situation. Out of frustration, he hit a ball into his chair and it ricocheted almost hitting a court sweeper in the head. The ball hit off the hat of the sweeper with the crowd showering Rublev with heavy booes. He then slammed a water bottle into the court resulting in further booes.

The umpire issued Rublev a code violation with the match resuming after that. Rublev went on to win the match in the end and following the match, he admitted that he was completely out of line. He said:

"I lost my mind for a moment and of course I regret what I did. It's unacceptable to hit the ball the way I hit it. It's better if I hit the racquet on the chair because the ball. It can affect someone. It's unprofessional from my side and I hope I never do it again."

Rublev is very right because a ball at that speed hitting the eye could have caused permanent damage. It's not a rare occurrence either as Rublev is known to lose his cool quite often on the court. Usually, he turns that anger towards himself slamming his hand into the racquet and similar stuff which has left him bleeding a couple of times. Not a good look for the Russian.
